A chasuble is a liturgical vestment with an openings on the hips. It is worn by clergy in high Massed and during the Corpus Domini Processions. It is also used by common priests during high masses where the Archbishop celebrates. The chasuble on exhibit is made of red-dyed silk and embroidered with floral decorations. It belonged to Monsignor Pietro Cilento, archbishop of Rossano from 1844 to 1889
