The silver bust, dating 1768, is the work of the Neapolitan silversmith Costanzo Mellino. It was commissioned by the priests Michele Romano and Domenico Rogani, when the city was saved from famine.  On the base of the bust the city of Rossano is visible.  Every August the sculpture is taken to the Cathedral for all the month long and taken in procession on 14th and 15th of August
