Silver TURIBLE WITH RELIEF FIGURES



The turible has a twin, also kept in the diocesan museum of sacred art. The chiseled chalice has bas-relief sculpted figures of Saints with Episcopal vestments, probably they represent the rossanese-born saints Nilo and Bartolomeo and the mother of God in the center. The turibles were used during high masses in the cathedral and were made by the Neapolitan silversmith Biagio Gaurinello, active in Naples between the end of XVII and the beginning of XVIII c
